About

Me on a Sunny Sydney Morning in the Botanical Gardens

Hi there, so I’m Liz. Its always hard talking and writing about yourself and trying to capture all your thoughts and beliefs down into one little blurb on a blog site to get what it is your about across to your readers….So in a nutshell here is what I have come up with…

I like to experience new things, meet and work with different people (trainers and clients) that teach you new lessons and ideas to add to your repertoire. As a result I have spent time working and studying in the US, UK and currently reside and work in Sydney, Australia. I have spent my life and career studying the many personal training approaches to fitness, wellness and training. All of which have set the foundation for the Ultimate Wellness philosophy that I use today. My approach to health and wellness is dynamic and fun. It steps away from the typical 2 dimensional philosophy that is health and fitness.

There are many definitions out there on what being fit or health means, but in my opinion there is so much more to it that the traditional approach can now be seen as outdated. Where there is lots of discussion, research and study is “wellness” this term takes a more ‘wholistic’ (holistic) approach to both health and fitness and incorporates more of the ‘fluffy stuff’ that was once overlooked.

Much of the work I do goes into this, so I will not explain to much what I mean here as you will see in various blog entries how all of this ties to together. but for now I will leave you with a little information on the 4 basic elements:

4 Elements of Wellness & Balance

Ultimate Wellness Philosophy

Simplistically, these 4 elements are what I refer to as the foundation of inner and physical balance. Striking a balance amongst each of these elements is definitely challenging when faced with lifes’ day to day demands. Thought, with adequate coaching and an understanding that things can’t happen over night the realisation that the path to ultimate wellness comes with consistency, patience and persistence, trial and error and an open mind to learn, challenge your self, apply knowledge and grow.

MIND: Change your thoughts, Change your life

NUTRITION: Energise to Optimise

LIFESTYLE: Work, Rest & Play

MOVEMENT: The key to creating positive energy that flows effortlessly through the body.

I have been a certified Personal Trainer since 2001, I have worked and study in London, UK as a studio manager in group fitness. I attained my Diploma in Remedial and Holistic Massage in 2007 and returned to Sydney soon after to re-establish Ultimate Wellness in the great out doors of Sydney. In 2007 I completed my level 1 of C.H.E.K holistic lifestyle coaching which catapulted me into the wellness industry where I have created many outdoor programs that are geared toward educating and motivating Australians to lead a balanced and active lifestyle not just for the purpose of looking good, but to feeling positive about lifestyle change.
